The episode begins with Jhanak agreeing to dance at the Sangeet. Lal suggests getting a new dress for Jhanak, and Bipasha agrees, expressing her excitement for the event. Jhanak leaves, and Bipasha hints at something happening the next day.
Anirudh intercepts Jhanak, and she asks him what’s on his mind. He cryptically tells her that not everything needs to be explicitly said and questions her understanding. Jhanak expresses her feelings of insignificance and discomfort when people talk about him, wondering why he wants her to stay. Anirudh reminds her of their previous discussions and her awareness of Arshi’s likely reaction. He questions her change in demeanor and commitment. Jhanak, in turn, urges Anirudh to stay happy and not get angry, especially with his Sangeet approaching.
Anirudh opens up about feeling like a puppet, bound by promises and unable to be truthful or escape his current situation. He admits to feeling conflicted about his promises to Arshi and his unspoken feelings for Jhanak. Jhanak acknowledges his struggles but reminds him to stay strong and fulfill his commitments. Anirudh then surprises her by revealing his intention to perform at the Sangeet, aiming to prove himself as a talented performer.
As they discuss the performance, Anirudh shares that his performance holds deeper significance than just singing. Jhanak, feeling uncomfortable with the conversation, attempts to leave, but Anirudh stops her. He cryptically asks if a storm could come and change everything, leaving Jhanak puzzled. She reassures him of their strength to withstand any storm, likening them to strong trees.
Their conversation takes a tense turn as Jhanak expresses her desire to leave for Mumbai and her discomfort with societal labels like “second woman” or “mistress.” Anirudh, feeling insulted, apologizes for his lies and the suffocation he feels. He tries to explain his feelings for Jhanak but struggles, ultimately apologizing for causing her distress.
She declares, “I returned solely on your insistence, disregarding the insults. My presence here is for your happiness alone. Don’t you value that?” He earnestly replies, “I do value it.” She reminds him, “You pledged to find happiness with Arshi.” He affirms, “Yes, and I will. You’ll witness the depth of my love for Arshi; that’s my promise.” With that, she bids him to stay happy and departs.
The next morning, Shubh warmly welcomes everyone to the Sangeet. Anjana takes care of Appu, and Anirudh mentions Arshi’s imminent arrival. Shubh soon announces her arrival, and Anirudh rushes to greet her. Vinayak and Shrishti arrive, with Shrishti explaining their slight delay due to incoming guests. Arshi enters, and Shubh compliments her appearance, showering her with praise. Lal arrives and adds her own compliments to Arshi’s charm.
Choton, feeling out of place, offers to check on the food counters, but Shubh insists he stay, mentioning they’ve hired the best caterers. Choton, anxious about Mrinalini’s arrival and potential public embarrassment, is advised by Dadi to go wait for her outside. Despite his protests, Choton reluctantly leaves, fretting over the impending meeting. Meanwhile, Shubh assures everyone that the children have managed all the arrangements, leaving them free to enjoy the Sangeet.
As the guests chat, Shrishti mentions hearing about a surprise guest performer. Tanuja confirms the news, adding to the excitement. Jhanak gets ready for the festivities ahead.
