Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai begins with Abhira handing a toffee to Armaan, encouraging him to indulge. Grateful, Armaan enjoys the treat, while Abhira receives a toy tortoise. Amidst their banter, she sincerely wishes him success in Rohit’s case.
In return, Armaan prays for luck and overhears Abhira conversing with someone named Ruhi. Abhira’s frustration is evident, prompting Armaan to ask her to feed his mother, who hasn’t eaten since yesterday. Agreeing, Abhira goes to Vidya, encouraging her to eat for Rohit’s sake. Initially hesitant, Vidya eventually relents, leading to an emotional moment between her and Abhira. Meanwhile, a visibly upset Ruhi is seen sleeping on the couch.
Concerned for Ruhi, Abhira tries to communicate with her, but Ruhi remains unresponsive. Abhira enters the room, consoles Ruhi, persuading her to get up, take a bath, and offering to bring food. Despite initial resistance, Ruhi eventually complies.

The plot thickens as Dadi’s toffee box goes missing, leading to suspicion. Abhira is accused, but she denies any involvement. Armaan searches for the box, escalating tensions. Ruhi continues to suffer as questions arise about her missing mangalsutra. Armaan attempts to console her, but Ruhi, frustrated, asks him to leave.
In a conversation with Abhira, Armaan shares his belief in Rohit’s return and the challenge of accepting the truth. Ruhi overhears, confronting Armaan about Rohit’s return. Abhira witnesses their interaction.
As night falls, Armaan and Abhira engage in a light-hearted argument. Armaan insists that Abhira take care of Ruhi, leading to a brief moment of intimacy. The episode concludes with preparations for a puja for Rohit’s return. Dadi, concerned for Ruhi’s emotional state, decides against involving her in the puja.
