Anuj brings a cake for Aadhya, which her friends love. Shruti asks Anuj where he got the cake so quickly. Anuj mysteriously says it’s magic, thinking to keep it a secret for now. He plans to make a video call to Anupama and wonders if she’ll answer. Shruti asks him to take a video on her phone too. Anupama receives a voice message from Anuj, informing her that the venue has changed, Aadhya loved the cake, and he’ll call her when it’s time to cut it. Anupama wonders why the party moved to a restaurant and hopes Choti is okay, thinking Choti might be upset since she decorated the house. She watches the video and reassures herself that if Choti is happy, everything is fine. Vikram presents a dish to Anupama, who approves it as perfect.
Anupama receives a call and decides to attend to it while Ms. Smith tastes the snacks. She tells Rahul she’ll handle the final touch and serve the dish. Rahul agrees. Anupama gets emotional seeing Aadhya cut the cake she made. Aadhya feeds cake to Anuj first, who wishes her a happy birthday. She hugs him and then feeds Shruti. Toshu approaches Rahul and Vikram, asking if Ms. Smith’s dish is ready and offers to serve it.
Vikram says Anupama will handle it. Toshu insists, saying Anupama is on a call and it will take time. Rahul reiterates that Anupama wants to oversee the biryani herself. Toshu argues it can’t be reheated if it cools and takes the dish forcibly with bad intentions. Anupama tries to stop him but fails.
Toshu approaches Ms. Smith and serves her Anupama’s popular dish, undhiyu biryani. Anupama, puzzled, asks who instructed him to serve it. Rahul reveals that Toshu took the dish without permission. As Ms. Smith inspects the biryani, everyone is shocked. Vikram asks Anupama to explain the dish. Anupama steps forward, while Anuj, sensing something amiss, considers heading to Spice and Chutney, feeling a premonition.
Anupama proudly introduces the dish as her signature undhiyu biryani. Ms. Smith, horrified, exclaims, “What is this?” Anupama discovers cockroaches in the biryani. Ms. Smith, furious, asks if it’s undhiyu biryani or cockroach biryani. Customers gather, taunting Anupama, accusing her of trying to poison them.
Ms. Smith criticizes Anupama, stating that this is what she serves as a superstar chef—zero hygiene. She expresses her fear of ending up in the ICU and advises everyone to get checked. Anupama is stunned. Ms. Smith accuses Anupama of being a fraud, talking big about motherhood, customers, love, and respect, but delivering a facade. She threatens to sue Anupama and her restaurant.
Customers record the incident, telling Anupama to take her trophy home and eat the cockroach biryani herself. They vow to ban her restaurant. Ms. Smith declares Anupama Joshi finished, throwing the plate at the trophy, shattering it. A customer asks if they are being fed poison disguised as food.
Anupama apologizes, explaining that she cleaned every corner of the kitchen and doesn’t know how the cockroaches appeared. Ms. Smith retorts, “Then who knows? You didn’t even check the dish before serving.” Yashdeep thinks Ms. Smith would have given them the American star by now. Beeji prays for Anupama.
Meanwhile, Baa notices Babu Ji’s worry. Babu Ji explains his concern about the food critic’s visit to Anupama’s restaurant. Baa asks if Anupama will come home after receiving the American star. Babu Ji responds, “First, let her receive it.” At Aadhya’s birthday, guests discuss the viral video of Ms. Smith finding a cockroach at Spice and Chutney. Aadhya, unaware, asks Anuj for a photo, but he rushes out, distressed. Aadhya calls after him, confused.
Anuj rushes to Anupama as she faints, holding her and saying, “You didn’t do this, so take a stand for yourself.” Meanwhile, Aadhya tells Shruti that Anupama has done this deliberately to make Anuj run to her, suggesting they need to oust Anupama from her home.
Anuj addresses Ms. Smith and her partner, asking them to allow him to speak. He praises Anupama’s professionalism and dedication to her work, mentioning her devotion to cleanliness and hygiene, and her ritual of praying and performing puja before cooking. He questions why anyone would jeopardize a successful restaurant by allowing such a situation to arise.
Vikram and Rahul suggest inspecting the kitchen, while Ms. Smith insists on reporting honestly. Toshu offers free meals to resolve the issue, but Anupama silences him, asking Ms. Smith if she thinks they are trying to bribe her.
Anupama requests time to uncover how the incident happened, emphasizing her lifelong commitment to food safety. Anuj supports her, stating that Anupama wants to find the perpetrator behind this.
Vanraj questions Baa and Babuji about their sleeplessness without Anupama’s call, offering them mangoes and reflecting on the sweetness of mangoes compared to Titu’s bitter past, concluding that Anupama was wrong about Titu. Aadhya, unable to reach Anuj, suggests to Shruti they go there, cursing Anupama and wishing for her happiness to be taken away.
Ms. Smith acknowledges the possibility of Anupama’s innocence but points out that the restaurant might have rushed to reopen, compromising basic hygiene standards. She informs them that she must escalate the issue to food and hygiene authorities before leaving.
Anuj reassures Anupama not to worry, but she remains in shock, thinking of Yashdeep, as customers shout and taunt her before leaving.
