The episode begins with Nalini serving food to Aaji, who attempts to eat. Nalini feels remorseful. Aaji, however, refuses to let her lack of eyesight diminish her self-respect. She acknowledges the need to adjust to living in darkness. Mandira observes silently.
Aaji grabs Mandira’s hand, and when Mandira screams, Aaji accuses her of testing her sight. Mandira defends herself, claiming she was merely checking. Aaji slaps her, calling her foolish. Bua scolds Mandira for doubting Aaji and tells her it’s wrong.
She then asks Aaji to guess how many fingers she’s holding up, but Aaji insists she can’t see, asking them not to make fun of her. Bua, however, persists, adding chili powder to the dal. They watch as Aaji unknowingly eats the spicy dal and coughs. Nalini, seeing this, gives her water and offers to send food to her room, but Aaji refuses.
Meanwhile, Shivam, missing Sajeeri, looks through their cupboard and reminisces about their moments together. Sajeeri, too, thinks of Shivam and looks at their picture. Supriya apologizes to Sajeeri for the family’s mistakes, admitting she should not have been confined.
Back at the dining table, Bua reveals to Nalini that Aaji has lost her sight, and they all watch as Aaji struggles to eat the spicy food. Nalini expresses regret to Priya, admitting she was wrong in her decisions regarding Sajeeri. Shivam, unaware of these events, arrives home looking for a file in Sajeeri’s bag.
Sangeeta informs them of a fallen tree causing a traffic jam, preventing Shivam from leaving. Despite initial hesitations, Shivam decides to stay the night, borrowing his father’s clothes for the occasion. As Sajeeri guides him to the washroom with a torch, Shivam is surprised by the modest facilities.
