Sushma declares her intention to leave, prompting Vanraj to intervene. He announces to everyone that he has found Titu’s mother. Sushma insists she doesn’t belong to anyone and must depart. Vanraj urges her to stay, reminding her it’s her son’s wedding day.
However, Sushma remains resolute, rejecting any maternal identity. Titu affectionately addresses her as “Maa” and asks how she arrived there. Sushma repeats that she is not his mother and insists on leaving. Titu pleads with her to stay.
Anupama questions Titu about why he concealed his mother’s existence from everyone. Vanraj prompts Titu to speak up, stating that everyone wants the truth from him. Titu explains that his mother is his blessing, akin to the mark on his forehead. He confesses he tried to inform Dimpy several times but couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Vanraj chastises him for not revealing that his mother is alive. Titu admits he lacked the courage to do so. Anupama presses him to explain why he hid this from them and urges him to speak honestly.
Sushma reveals she had instructed Titu not to disclose anything. Anupama emphasizes that relationships cannot be kept hidden and insists that everything should be clarified before finalizing the alliance. Vanraj takes it upon himself to reveal the truth, condemning Titu’s luck and taunting Kavya and Anupama.
He informs Dimpy that he had investigated Titu thoroughly to break the alliance, citing Titu’s criminal past and family history tied to a coal mine. He accuses Titu of having criminal records and being born in unfavorable circumstances.
Titu interrupts, expressing his frustration, but Vanraj dismisses him and claims he is not his father. Anupama demands Vanraj to divulge everything. Vanraj continues to embellish the truth, explaining how he obtained proofs with the help of an inspector friend. He discloses that Sushma had been imprisoned for 15 years under prisoner number 312, accused of murdering her husband.
He questions Tapish about his mother’s past, and Tapish confirms that while his mother was jailed on false charges, she did not commit the crime. Sushma pleads for mercy, asserting her innocence and defending her son.
Vanraj accuses them of deception and declares that the marriage will not proceed. Titu protests his mother’s innocence, but Vanraj prevents him from explaining or clarifying, accusing him of shame. Titu calls out to Mr. Shah, but Vanraj reacts violently, prompting Anupama and Anuj to intervene.
Babu ji criticizes Vanraj’s actions, condemning his behavior. Anupama takes Titu to the wedding altar and insists he tell the truth. Dimpy demands answers from Titu, stating that while she felt hurt by his initial omission, now he must speak truthfully without excuses or lies.
Titu solemnly recounts, “My Papa wasn’t a good husband, father, or human being. He used to come home drunk and beat my mother every day, while she silently endured it all. Every day after school, I’d see the marks on her face. One day, Papa was so drunk, he asked me to go to the liquor shop. Mummy refused, saying her son wouldn’t go there.
Papa got furious and started hitting her. I was small, didn’t know what to do, so he started hitting me too. I grabbed a knife, almost stabbed him, but my hand froze and dropped. That’s when I saw the grinding stone in my mother’s hand, stained. My mother didn’t kill him; she saved me. She called the police herself, surrendered, and made me promise not to tell anyone. I swear on the fire, this is true.”
Vanraj reflects, “It’s a powerful story.” Sushma adds, “Every mother would sacrifice her life for her child. I gave up 15 years of my life. I told him not to call me his mother; she sees her son as pure as the moon, untouched.
